International art dealer and collector, Lillian Heidenberg, will welcome the American Friends to her magnificent four-story Park Slope mansion built in 1887 by the renowned American architect Charles Pierrepont Henry Gilbert. We will view her impressive art collection that includes works by Louise Bourgeois, Lynn Chadwick, Jim Dine, Alex Katz, Henry Moore, and Tom Wesselmann plus younger contemporary artists Wangechi Mutu, Ebony Patterson and Summer Wheat, among others. A light lunch will be provided.
Meet artist MaryKate Maher in her Brooklyn studio. Maher will explain her unique use of materials and photographic techniques for creating both sculpture and collage. Her works focus on the compression of space and light. She utilizes abstraction, symbols and repetitive forms to reference the body, geology and mythologies found in landscapes. Maher is represented by FORMah gallery.
Round trip private transportation will be provided, departing from the Upper East Side at 11:45 am and returning at approximately 5 pm. Details will be shared upon purchase of tickets. Space is limited.
